Trade Name Reservation

This service enables the investor to reserve a trade name within a maximum period of (60) days.

Required Documents

ID Photo.
A copy of the agreement between the attorney and the principal must be submitted, certified by the Saudi embassy in the home country of the company and authenticated by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with a translation of the agreement into Arabic by an accredited office.

Service Conditions

The age must not be less than 18 years.
The applicant must be alive.
The applicant must not hold a government position.
The applicant must be the beneficiary of the trade name or authorized on their behalf with a valid authorization.
A letter from the entity requesting the service must be provided if the beneficiary is a government entity or an entity affiliated with it.
The name must consist of Arabic words, Arabized words, letters, Arabic numbers, or one or more of these, if a trade name in Arabic is being reserved.
The name must consist of English words, letters, numbers, or one or more of these, if a trade name in English is being reserved.
It must not be contrary to public order, public morals, lead to deception, or be prohibited from use.
It must not resemble a trade name that is reserved or registered in the commercial registration, regardless of the type of activity.
It must not resemble a trade name, a globally renowned trademark, or a registered or well-known trademark in the Kingdom.
It must not contain any political, military, or religious meaning, indication, or connotation.
It must not resemble the name, honorary title, or symbol of any local, regional, or international organization or any of its institutions.
It must not contain a prohibited name according to the list of prohibited names.
It must not contain the name of a government or a semi-government entity.
The regulations for reserving or registering the name (Saudi Arabia), or the names of cities, regions, and public places, must be adhered to in accordance with the regulations outlined in the Trade Name Law and its Executive Regulations.
The provisions outlined in the executive regulations related to reserving family names as trade names must be observed.
Government fees: 200 SAR to register a trade name in Arabic 500 SAR to register a trade name in English.
