Application for Registration of Control Marks

The control or inspection mark is intended to indicate the procedure of monitoring or inspection. Legal persons who undertake the control or inspection of certain goods or services in terms of their source, components of their composition, method of manufacture, quality, nature, or any other characteristic can register the mark.

Required Documents

Attach an exact copy of the bylaws of the union, organization, or public institution requesting registration, with the amendments that may have been made to it, provided that it includes: A- A declaration that the control or inspection mark will be used by anyone other than the applicant and that the applicant will not engage in marketing or production of any goods or services on which this mark is used. It will not engage in discrimination policies that would prevent the use of the mark by third parties that meet the specifications set by the owner.
Attach a declaration that the control or inspection mark certifies the quality, types or advantages of the goods or services and that it does not indicate the source of the goods or services.
Attach documents specifying the specifications and standards applied by the application filing entity in order to monitor the use of the mark and proving that the application entity is practicing an approved quality assessment program.
A certificate showing the merits of the goods or services certified or required to be certified.
